Before sealing everything up, we gave the crawl space a thorough cleaning, wiping down ducts, removing debris, and disposing of the old vapor barrier. To maintain a healthy environment, we installed a dehumidifier and air purifier to control humidity and improve air quality. Finally, we added vent covers to block outside moisture. Then we installed a durable drainage mat along the floor and slightly up the walls to help manage any ground moisture and make the space safer and more comfortable for storage. Over that, we sealed everything with a heavy-duty liner that keeps moisture and damp air out, creating a clean, controlled environment underneath the home.

This project focused on improving the condition and protection of the crawl space. Our team installed the CleanSpace encapsulation system to create a clean, dry, and sealed environment. The liner was securely fastened and air-sealed around all interior footings and piers, and extended about 24 inches up the crawl space walls for added moisture protection.

To support the system, we also placed CleanSpace Drainage Matting underneath the liner. This matting helps water drain properly while adding extra durability and comfort especially useful for storing items in the crawl space. It was installed across the entire floor and continued 6 inches up the exterior walls to help block ground seepage at the floor and wall joint.

The result is a sealed, healthier crawl space that helps protect the home from moisture, mould, and musty odors.
