This project involved rebuilding two window wells to improve drainage and protect the foundation. The existing window well materials were removed and properly disposed of. Excess soil and debris were cleared to create a six-inch clearance below each window, and clean stone was added to help water drain away efficiently.
New window wells were then built using treated lumber for durability. A drainage mat was installed along the exterior of each window well to guide water away from the foundation, with the top edge neatly finished using a mould strip. Finally, the areas were backfilled with the existing soil, leaving both window wells clean, stable, and well-protected.
