A Small Crack Can Lead to Bigger Problems in Kelowna
From Cluttered and Exposed to Clean, Sealed, and Insulated in Madeira Park
This project focused on giving the crawl space a complete refresh while improving moisture protection and energy efficiency.
We started by removing unnecessary wood framing and old insulation from the floor joists. The space was then cleaned by wiping down heating ducts and sewer lines, removing spider webs, and clearing away loose debris.
To protect the crawl space from ground moisture, a drainage layer was installed across the floor, followed by a durable moisture barrier. The barrier was carefully sealed around the foundation walls, footings, and support piers to create continuous protection against damp conditions and outside air.
New insulation was then installed along the foundation walls and rim joist areas, with seams and gaps carefully sealed to help reduce drafts and improve energy efficiency.
The result is a cleaner, drier, and better-insulated crawl space that helps protect the home from moisture while creating a more comfortable environment above.
