Crawl Space Repair & Protection

For this project, we worked on making the crawl space dry, stable, and energy-efficient. We started by adding a protective barrier across the floor and up the walls to keep out ground moisture and create a clean surface for storage. To keep the air fresh and dry, we included a dehumidifier with its own stand and outlet.

For extra strength, new support posts and beams were installed to stabilize the structure above. We also wrapped the piers, sealed up the rim joists with insulation to improve energy savings, and finished the job by fully sealing the space to lock out moisture and outside air. Together, these steps give the crawl space long-term protection and create a healthier home environment.

Transforming a crawl space for a healthier home

We start by clearing out the crawl space, removing any debris, old insulation, and the worn-out vapor barrier to create a clean slate. To keep moisture at bay, we lay down a drainage mat and secure a tough, protective moisture barrier across the floor, footings, and walls. Next, we upgrade the insulation along the walls and rim joists, sealing any gaps to boost energy efficiency. A new insulated crawl space door is installed for better access and added protection. To prevent mold, we treat all wood surfaces with a specialized solution and install a dehumidifier to keep humidity levels in check. A drainage system is also set up to handle excess moisture. Finally, we reinforce the structure by installing adjustable support jacks to stabilize the floor joists. The end result? A cleaner, drier, and stronger crawl space that improves air quality, insulation, and the overall durability of your home.

Full Crawl Space Encapsulation and Repair in Langley, BC

For this project, we completed a full crawl space encapsulation to help protect the home from moisture, improve air quality, and create a cleaner, more usable space.

We began by sealing and securing a heavy-duty moisture barrier along the floor and up the walls of the crawl space, following manufacturer guidelines. A special drainage mat was also installed underneath to help with any ground moisture and add durability for storage use.

We repaired a wall crack by injecting a waterproofing material deep into the wall and finishing it with a flexible sealant system for added protection. The area was then cleaned and vacuumed, and any wall insulation that had to be removed was reinstalled.

To address any existing mould, we applied a mould treatment to all exposed wood and organic surfaces in the crawl space. We also wiped down heating ducts, cleaned off sewer lines, and removed spider webs and loose debris from the floor.

Lastly, we installed new foil-faced insulation on the walls, which helps keep the crawl space energy efficient and prevents moisture or odor absorption. All seams and gaps were properly sealed to ensure a tight, protective finish.

From damp & musty to clean & dry: A crawl space transformation

When a homeowner noticed a musty smell and excess moisture in their crawl space, they knew it was time for a solution. Worried about potential mould and damage, they reached out to us for help. We installed a dehumidifier to keep humidity in check and treated the wood surfaces with a mould prevention solution. To ensure proper drainage, we added a condensate pump. For better insulation and energy efficiency, we installed moisture resistant foam board. Finally, we encapsulated the space with a durable vapor barrier and drainage matting to lock out moisture for good. Now, their crawl space is dry, fresh, and protected, giving them peace of mind and a healthier home.
