This crawl space needed some attention after signs of rodent activity and ongoing moisture concerns. We started with a thorough crawl space cleanup, removing rodent droppings, loose debris, and spider webs. The floor, walls, and accessible ductwork were HEPA vacuumed, and affected surfaces were treated to leave the area cleaner and more sanitary.
With the cleanup complete, we turned our attention to moisture. A drainage layer was installed across the floor to help manage water and moisture coming from the ground. We then covered the area with a durable crawl space moisture barrier, carefully sealing it around the foundation walls, footings, and support areas.
New crawl space insulation was also installed along the foundation walls and around the rim joists. Gaps and seams were sealed to help reduce drafts and keep the home more comfortable and energy efficient.
With the cleanup, moisture protection, and insulation upgrades complete, the homeowner now has a cleaner, drier, and better-protected crawl space beneath the home.
To create a cleaner, drier, and more energy-efficient crawl space, we’ll begin by removing debris and installing a durable encapsulation system. The liner will securely seal around footings, piers, and foundation walls. If insulation is present, the liner will extend slightly over it for a tight seal. A drainage mat will be added to manage moisture and improve durability. Insulated wall panels will be installed with sealed seams to prevent moisture and odors. Lastly, we’ll spread drain rock for added protection and install wire mesh over openings.
This project focused on permanently stopping water from entering through a foundation crack. Small ports were installed along the crack, and a flexible resin was injected under pressure to fully seal it from the inside. Once sealed, the ports were removed, and the surface was finished neatly with fast-setting cement.
The repair was then flood-tested from the outside to ensure it was completely watertight. The area was cleaned, vacuumed, and any insulation that had been removed was reinstalled as needed.
This repair helps prevent future leaks, protects the foundation, and comes with a 24-month warranty for added peace of mind.
This project focused on creating a cleaner, drier, and more energy-efficient crawl space. The area was first cleaned by wiping down heating ducts and sewer lines, removing spider webs, and clearing away loose debris.
A durable moisture barrier was then installed and carefully sealed around the footings, piers, and foundation walls to help keep moisture and outside air out. Beneath the liner, a drainage layer was added to help manage ground seepage and provide long-lasting protection.
To improve comfort and energy efficiency, new insulation was installed along the foundation walls and in the rim joist areas. All seams and gaps were carefully sealed to help reduce drafts and resist moisture.
The result is a well-protected crawl space that helps control moisture, improve energy efficiency, and create a healthier environment beneath the home.
A damp crawl space can lead to musty odors, mould, and even structural issues. That’s why we fully seal and protect the area by securely fastening and air-sealing a durable moisture barrier at footings, piers, and foundation walls. If insulation is present, the barrier extends 6” in front of it for complete coverage.
To further protect your home, we add a drainage layer beneath the barrier, extending slightly up the exterior walls. This prevents ground seepage, improves durability, and creates a cleaner, healthier space & perfect for storage and peace of mind.
