Restoring the Crawl Space After Rodent Damage in Delta

This project focused on cleaning, repairing, and protecting the crawl space after signs of rodent activity. We began by removing unwanted stored items with the homeowner's approval, followed by the removal of old insulation, debris, rodent droppings, and spider webs. The entire crawl space was then thoroughly HEPA vacuumed, and all concrete surfaces were treated with a specialized germicide to help sanitize the area.

To help prevent future rodent problems, wire mesh was installed at identified entry points, including along the rear baseplate and floor. Any rotted baseplates were also replaced to restore the integrity of the crawl space structure.

Finally, new insulation was installed along the foundation walls and in the rim joist areas, with all seams carefully sealed to help reduce drafts, improve energy efficiency, and resist moisture.

The result is a cleaner, healthier, and better-protected crawl space that helps keep pests out while improving the home's comfort and long-term durability.
