This project focused on transforming an old, unprotected crawl space into a clean, sealed, and energy-efficient area. The team began by removing all old insulation, vapour barrier, and debris to prepare the space for restoration. All surfaces were cleaned, and a disinfectant treatment was applied to eliminate any traces of rodent activity. Wire mesh was installed to close off small gaps or openings in the foundation and rim joist area, helping prevent future pests from entering.
A durable liner was then installed to completely seal the crawl space, protecting it from moisture and creating a healthier environment. Beneath the liner, a drainage layer was added to manage ground moisture and make the floor more comfortable for storage. Finally, new insulated wall panels were carefully installed and sealed, improving energy efficiency and ensuring the space remains dry and fresh year-round.
