Making the Crawl Space Cleaner, Safer, and Easier to Access in Port Coquitlam

This project focused on transforming the crawl space into a cleaner, drier, and more functional space. We began by removing old fiberglass insulation, construction debris, and loose materials, while cleaning ducts, sewer lines, and other surfaces to improve the overall condition of the area.

A durable moisture barrier was installed and carefully sealed around the footings, piers, and foundation walls. A drainage layer was placed beneath the liner to help manage ground moisture and provide long-lasting protection.

To improve accessibility, the crawl space entrance and the path to the furnace were regraded, making future filter changes and furnace maintenance much easier and safer. A new insulated crawl space door was also installed to better seal the access point.

Finally, new insulation was installed along the foundation walls and rim joist areas to help reduce drafts, improve energy efficiency, and create a more comfortable home.

The result is a cleaner, drier, better-insulated crawl space that's easier to access and built to provide long-term protection and peace of mind.
