This project focused on sealing and insulating the crawl space to create a cleaner, drier, and more energy-efficient environment. The team installed a durable liner system throughout the crawl space, carefully fastening and sealing it around footings, piers, and along the foundation walls to block out moisture and air leaks.
To further improve energy efficiency, new insulated wall panels were added to all exterior walls. Each panel was tightly sealed with foil tape and spray foam to prevent drafts and moisture intrusion. The result is a well-protected crawl space that helps maintain consistent temperatures and supports a healthier home overall.
-A cleanspace vapor Barrier was installed to help with the musty smell and to help control a highly humid crawlspace
-A drain Mat was installed to help protect the vapor barrier, which will also allow water to pass under de liner
-A dehumidifier was installed to help control air quality and humidity
We encapsulated the crawl space by sealing it at all interior footings, piers, and along the top edge of the foundation walls to prevent moisture intrusion. A drainage mat was installed beneath the liner and extended 6 inches up the walls to help manage ground seepage and add durability to the surface. We repaired a foundation crack by injecting it with polyurethane resin under high pressure and reinforcing the area with a structural weave, providing a flexible and long-lasting seal. We installed a dehumidifier and air purifier system to maintain healthy humidity levels.
This project focused on sealing, stabilizing, and improving the overall condition of the crawl space. The work began by regrading the soil, smoothing the surface, removing large rocks, and filling in gaps around the main sewer outlet to create a clean and even base.
A full crawl space encapsulation system was installed and carefully sealed around footings, piers, and along the foundation walls to keep moisture out. During the installation, the existing adjustable support jacks were temporarily removed so the liner could be properly placed. Once complete, the jacks were reinstalled on top of the liner and tightened to stabilize the support beam. The bottoms of the piers were also wrapped for added protection.
A drainage layer was added beneath the liner and extended up the walls to help manage ground moisture and improve durability. The foundation walls were then insulated, with all seams sealed to reduce drafts and prevent moisture intrusion.
To finish the project, a foundation crack was repaired using a flexible injection to stop water entry, followed by a carbon fiber reinforcement to strengthen the wall.
These improvements resulted in a cleaner, drier, and more stable crawl space built for long-term protection and peace of mind.
