We recently helped a homeowner completely refresh their crawl space, turning it from a damp, messy area into a clean, dry, and usable space.
The floor used to be bare dirt, so we started by adding a drainage system and a reliable sump pump to keep water out even during power outages, thanks to a battery backup. We also added ventilation to improve air quality and help control moisture.
To seal everything up, we installed a heavy-duty liner across the entire floor and walls, making the space feel much cleaner and more secure. Underneath that, we added a layer that helps with comfort and protects against ground moisture—perfect if they ever want to use the space for storage. We gave the area a deep clean, removed the old vapor barrier, got rid of spider webs, and treated the concrete for any lingering smells. We even wiped down the heating ducts and sewer lines. To make sure the crawl space stays warm and energy efficient, we added solid insulation to the walls and sealed everything tightly. We also checked for any small gaps or cracks and sealed them up with mesh to help keep pests out.
Since access was tricky, we created a custom hatch through a closet to make getting in and out easier in the future.
Now the crawl space is dry, insulated, and so much healthier, giving the homeowner peace of mind and a better home environment.
This crawl space needed better protection from water, ground moisture, and humidity. We installed a sump pump system to collect unwanted water and direct it safely away from the home through a new exterior discharge line. The discharge was also set up to help reduce the risk of backups during freezing conditions and release the water away from the foundation.
Inside the crawl space, wire mesh was installed across the floor and up the foundation walls. A drainage layer was then added to help manage ground seepage, followed by a durable crawl space moisture barrier that was carefully sealed around the footings, support piers, and foundation walls.
The wood and other organic surfaces were treated with a specialized mould-control treatment, and new crawl space insulation was installed along the foundation walls and around the rim joists. Gaps and seams were sealed to help reduce drafts and improve energy efficiency.
With improved drainage, a sump pump, crawl space encapsulation, mould treatment, and new insulation working together, the area is now cleaner, drier, and better equipped to manage water and moisture beneath the home.
Crawlspace would flood with a high humidity level.
We added a drainage system to control the water with a sump pump and a battery backup pump.
After the drainage system was added, we did a vapour barrier system and insulation to control the humidity level.
This project focused on strengthening and stabilizing a foundation crack. Reinforcement stitches were installed along the crack at regular intervals to help secure the area and prevent further movement.
A high-strength fiber reinforcement with epoxy was then applied over the crack to create a durable, structural repair.
This solution helps restore the integrity of the foundation, prevent future cracking, and provide long-term stability for the home.
This crawl space needed better protection from ground moisture, along with some insulation upgrades to help make the home more comfortable.
We installed a drainage layer across the crawl space floor to help manage ground seepage, followed by a durable crawl space moisture barrier. The barrier was carefully sealed around the footings, support piers, and foundation walls. In some areas, a small section of the existing insulation was trimmed so the barrier could be secured directly to the concrete for a tighter seal.
We also added new crawl space insulation around the rim joists and replaced insulation where the old fiberglass had been removed. These improvements help reduce drafts and improve energy efficiency throughout the home.
With better moisture control and insulation in place, the crawl space is now drier, better protected, and better equipped to handle moisture coming from the ground.
